My NEXT Raise is thrilled to welcome Barbara White from The Avoka Group for this three-workshop series to discuss the importance of developing a comprehensive capital acquisition strategy. This short series is designed for founders of idea and early-stage startups and small businesses who are ready to develop and refine a strategy to pursue the capital they need to reach their goals. 

SESSION I - March 27 @ 12pm ET:  Understanding Your Capital Needs and Sources. Before you begin to think about raising capital you have to understand how the type of business you have and your own goals for the business shape from where and when you raise. Your business structure and your personal goals for your business shape how and when you raise. You'll learn how to evaluate the type of capital most appropriate for your business and where you can find it.  

SESSION II - APRIL 3 @ 12PM ET:  Build Your Strategy: Learn how to leverage the same strategies you already use to acquire your customers to get the capital needed to sustain your business. 

SESSION III - APRIL 10 @ 12PM ET:  Execute and Refine Your Strategy: Learn how a thoughtful and focused execution plan can keep you on track and ahead of future needs. (Register here.

Each session will be 30 minutes. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all three.

Speaker: Barbara White, Founder & CEO of The Avoka Group.

Barbara White has extensive experience as a strategist, advisor, and investor, working with Fortune 500 companies, U.S. Federal Agencies, and start-ups. Over her 30-year career, she has assisted organizations, leaders, and their teams in transforming strategic ideas into practical, integrated solutions that achieve results and support their missions.

As a Board Member and Investor, she focuses on supporting women and underrepresented founders. She is the Board Vice President of Citrine Angels, a women-led angel group that invests in women and serves as an Advisor to The 2nd Bloom Angel Network, which funds entrepreneurs launching businesses later in their careers.

Barbara frequently speaks on leadership, entrepreneurship, strategy, and organizational culture. She holds a degree from Johns Hopkins University and serves as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Georgetown University and an Adjunct Instructor at Johns Hopkins University, where she teaches courses in Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital.
