Cybersecurity Association in 2026: Advancing Resilience
Collaboration, Innovation, and Leadership
As we step into 2026, cybersecurity is no longer just a technical function, it is a strategic imperative that shapes economic resilience, national security, and organizational trust. The threat landscape continues to evolve at unprecedented speed, driven by advances in artificial intelligence, expanding digital ecosystems, increasingly complex regulations, and persistent global instability. Against this backdrop, the Cybersecurity Association, Inc. remains committed to advancing cybersecurity through advocacy and collaboration—bringing together leaders, innovators, and practitioners to shape what comes next.
Since our founding in 2015, the Cybersecurity Association, Inc. has grown into a trusted, national community for organizations that recognize cybersecurity as a board-level and business-critical issue. Formerly known as the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland (CAMI), we have expanded both our reach and our impact while remaining grounded in our core mission: to provide an ecosystem that strengthens cybersecurity through shared knowledge, education, and collective action.
Reflecting on Our Momentum
The past year has been one of meaningful progress. Our membership community now includes hundreds of cybersecurity providers, business advisors, and partner organizations nationwide, all contributing to a vibrant and diverse ecosystem. Through our events, programs, and Centers of Excellence, members have gained access to timely insights, real-world expertise, and valuable connections that translate directly into stronger cyber resilience for organizations of all sizes.
Our events continue to be a cornerstone of this success. From executive briefings and technical workshops to workforce-focused programs and community networking events, these gatherings foster learning, collaboration, and trust. The photos and stories shared from these events across our website and social media channels capture more than moments in time; they reflect a growing, engaged community committed to advancing cybersecurity together.
What’s Ahead in 2026: A Shifting Cybersecurity Landscape
Looking ahead, 2026 presents both new challenges and new opportunities.
AI-driven cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated and accessible, enabling attackers to automate reconnaissance, personalize phishing campaigns, and evade traditional defenses. At the same time, defenders are adopting AI to improve detection, response, and resilience, creating a rapidly evolving arms race that demands continuous learning.
Regulatory and compliance pressures are also intensifying. New and updated frameworks around data privacy, critical infrastructure protection, software supply chain security, and incident reporting are requiring organizations to align cybersecurity more closely with legal, risk, and governance functions.
Supply chain and third-party risk remains a top concern as organizations rely on increasingly complex networks of vendors, platforms, and cloud services. A single weak link can have cascading consequences, reinforcing the need for shared standards, transparency, and collaboration.
Emerging technologies, including early-stage quantum computing, extended reality, and autonomous systems, promise innovation but also introduce unfamiliar risks. Preparing for these technologies requires foresight, research, and collective problem-solving—none of which can happen in isolation.
Our Role: Leading Through Centers of Excellence
The Cybersecurity Association, Inc. addresses these challenges through our three Centers of Excellence, each designed to strengthen a critical pillar of the cybersecurity ecosystem.
The Center for Business Growth & Innovation helps organizations understand cybersecurity as a driver of competitive advantage. By connecting providers, buyers, and advisors, the Center supports responsible innovation, market growth, and the adoption of secure-by-design practices.
The Center for Cybersecurity Talent focuses on one of the industry’s most pressing issues: people. From workforce development and education to career pathways and inclusion, this Center helps ensure that organizations have access to skilled, diverse, and prepared cybersecurity professionals.
The Center for Cyber Resilience brings together leaders and practitioners to address risk management, incident response, and recovery. By sharing lessons learned and best practices, the Center helps organizations move beyond prevention toward resilience, anticipating disruption and responding with confidence.
Together, these Centers of Excellence embody our belief that cybersecurity progress happens fastest when expertise is shared and challenges are addressed collectively.
